Tom received their certification as a BCBA in 2016. After receiving an undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in Music Education, Tom went on to work as a non-certified teacher in a self-contained room autism classroom. During this time Tom earned their Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis through Arizona State University. Tom worked as a BCBA at several companies in the greater Grand Rapids area before starting The Applied Behavioral Science Institution in 2018. Tom's primary influence has been by the work done by Dr. Gregory Hanley, who's approach to working with children focuses on empowering autistic individuals to find their own voice and develop a strong sense of self advocacy. Tom has worked with children with disabilities in the clinic, home, school, and community settings for the past 12 years. Tom runs The Applied Behavioral Science Institution with Ashley and together they are raising 5, soon to be 6 children in the Rockford area.
Ashley received her undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan University in 2007. She and Tom (Owner), were both raised in the Grand Rapids area and have 5 children together.
Naomi is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She received her certification September 2019. She has worked as a Behavior Technician with numerous agencies in the Grand Rapids area for the last 5 years.
Basha is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She received her M.S. from The University of North Texas in behavior analysis. She has been working in applied and experimental behavior analysis since 2010 across both universities and private agencies.
Aaron is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and received a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. Aaron also works as a music instructor. When not at work they can be found reading with coffee in hand.
Alisha received her BCBA certification in 2017. She graduated with a Masters of Arts in Teaching with a specialization in applied behavior analysis from National University. She has been working with children and their families in the field of ABA since 2013 in the home, community and clinic settings. While practicing in Oregon, Alisha was on the board of the Oregon Association for Behavior Analyst. She is passionate about designing programming that allows the learner and their families to be as independent as possible, engage with their community in a way that is meaningful and provide treatment that is safe, dignified and transparent.
Diana is a BCaBA with us. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology Behavior Analysis from Northern Michigan University in 2018. Since graduation, she has been working a few different jobs. Diana works for multiple agencies that assist people with disabilities. When she gets free time she enjoys spending time with her family and animals.
Tammy has been doing medical billing for 10 years. She received her Associates of Applied Science from Baker College of Muskegon with her major being Medical Insurance Billing and Coding. Tammy also works as a Program Assistant with the Special Education department and is also a substitute teacher when needed.
Steve is a subject matter specialist in all things medical administration, he has worked in multiple administrative positions for the past 15 years; including medical insurance authorizations and provider credentialing, medical billing, EMR/EHR, IT operations and HIPAA compliance. He graduated as a medical assistant from Ross Medical in 2007, earned his Associates in Healthcare Administration from University of Phoenix in 2014, and is presently working on a Bachelors in Business Management.
Kasidee is our Office Assistant. She graduated from Alma College with a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Physiology of Health Sciences in 2021. In her free time, Kasidee enjoys reading, being outdoors, traveling and spending time with her friends and cat, Katthew.
Cameron is a behavior technician who works with us. He also is a full time student at Grand Valley State University studying psychology with a minor in chemistry. He enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, being outside, and spending time with his dogs.
Maddie is a behavior technician with us and is currently working on becoming a registered behavior technician. She studies psychology and sociology at Grand Valley State University. She plans to become a BCBA in the future and has a passion working with kids. When she is not working or at school she enjoys spending time with her dog!
Heather is a Behavior Technician with us. She received her undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University in 2016. Since graduation, Heather has been working in a variety of positions in the mental health field.
Jack is a behavioral technician that works with us. He is currently a junior at Grand Valley State University studying nursing. In his free time he likes to spend time with his friends, playing video games, and petting his dogs.
Quinn is a behavioral technician with us. Alongside working with us she also has been a Lead DSP working in an adult foster care home for those with neurodivergencies for 3 years. When not working she likes to write poetry and short stories.
Mandie is a behavior technician with us. She graduated from Jenison High School and is currently on her way to get her teaching degree. She realized that child care is what she wanted to pursue in her future when she was volunteering at a daycare, working with children from 4-9 yrs old. She enjoys hikes, traveling around the country, and making different forms of art.
Megan is a behavioral technician with us. She is a full time student at Grand Valley State University and working towards a Bachelor’s Degree of science. She has a passion working with kids. In her free time she enjoys being outside, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Molly is a behavioral technician with us. She is currently studying nursing at Ferris State University! She loves working with kids and her ultimate career goal is to become a nurse practitioner in a pediatrician's office. In her free time she enjoys spending time outside, exploring new places, traveling and hanging out with her puppies, friends, and family.
Breanna recently received her Associates of Science in Occupational Therapy and is working towards becoming a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. She recently discovered she had a passion for working with kids when interning at a special needs school this year. In her free time, she loves hiking, kayaking, and cuddling with her 20 pound cat, Alfie
Chris has been a teacher for over 20 years. Three of those years have been working specifically with students with autism. He is originally a graduate of Hope College with a bachelors degree in secondary education and history. He has a masters degree in special education from Grand Valley State University and a autism teaching certificate endorsement from the masters program at Western Michigan University. Chris has been married to his wife Lisa for 3 years and has 5 children.
Adam is a behavioral technician with us. Adam received a Bachelor of Psychology with honors from Central Michigan University. He enjoys the fall season and spending time with his family.
Damaya is a new behavior technician with us. She is currently getting a bachelor’s degree in Psychology
Kenzie is a new Behavioral Technician with us. She is working towards her Bachelors Degree of Science from Grand Valley State University. She has a passion for working with the youth! In her free time she enjoys photography, nature and spending time with her family.
Karlina is a behavior technician with us. Karlina is currently studying Psychology at Grand Valley State University. She enjoys an active lifestyle of hiking and biking. She fills her free time with concerts, friends, and skateboarding.
Nick is a new Behavior Technician with us. He has a Bachelor's degree in Social Psychology from Western Michigan University and plans on returning to school to obtain a Master's degree. He is a musician that enjoys writing and recording music in his free time.
